Introduction
Well, i suppose i should introduce myself.
My name is Evielyn Chapman, I am an aussie living in Sydney, Australia. I am also a pastor of a Church in the southwest of Sydney. I’m a creative. I’m involved in everything from graphic design, music, video production, and more. I do lead quite a busy life and gtd has contributed to helping me take control of my time and my life.
I have never actually read the book Getting Things Done. Which is probably not a great thing to admit. I have basically picked it up from all the blogs and forums on the net.
Why another blog on gtd? Well, as i said before i am a paper gtd buff. I first looked at diyplanner and some other template sites but was dissatisfied with what i saw. The layouts were fine, but as a graphic designer i did find them a bit boring (no disrespect to the designers). Being a creative person, i don’t want to use something merely for the productivity. I want to use something that is special, that is aesthetically pleasing. So, i started to design my own templates.
I think i have come up with a good paper system, i have used everything from my own templates to moleskine, to anything else.
A warning… I like to tweak. I am always tweaking my system, tweaking my templates. Yes, maybe it gets in the way of actually getting things done, but it keeps my interest alive in it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with tweaking the systems, as long as we realise that we will never really reach a perfect system, it is just a work in progress, a journey.
